Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”It works in its own copy of the project
When the message means changing files, the new tab gets its own git worktree and branch, so the two Claudes never edit the same checkout. Its work shows on the strip under the tabs: click 1 commit to review it, then merge or discard it.
Its report arrives as a message
When the new tab finishes, its last reply is sent to this chat as a message, and Claude here reads it and answers. If this chat is busy then, the report waits in the queue like any message.
Not offered in a tab another tab opened
A tab that was itself opened by another conversation can’t open more. There, Run in Parallel in a New Tab is greyed out, and its tooltip says why.
