Writing a message
The box at the bottom of a chat tab does more than send text. Mention files with @, paste pictures, let Claude polish your wording, talk instead of typing, and take Claude's guess at your next message.

Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”Skills in the middle of a sentence
At the start of the box, / lists every command. After a space it offers only your skills, so you can write “explain this /short”. Keep typing to narrow the list, and ⇥ takes one.
Run a shell command with !
Start a message with ! and it runs in your shell, in the project’s folder. The output shows in the chat and joins the conversation, without costing a reply. A command still running after two minutes is stopped.
Talk instead of typing
Press fn⌃, or click the mic, and speak: your words appear in the box as you talk. Press it again to stop, or ⏎ to send once your last words are in. One ⌘Z takes the spoken words back out.
