Carrying on after a limit
A chat stopped at Claude's usage limit carries on by itself once the limit resets. Claude terminal tabs pick up again too, and so does a chat cut off by a crash.

Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”Press Esc to cancel the wait
While a chat waits for the reset, Esc stops it from carrying on by itself. The chat says so, and then waits for you to send it a message.
Terminal tabs carry on too
A Claude terminal tab stopped at the limit is told to continue about 90 seconds after the reset. Multee types only into an empty prompt, and leaves alone a tab you typed in meanwhile. Where Claude Code continues the tab itself, Multee stands back.
After a crash it carries on; after a quit it waits
A chat cut off mid-answer by a crash picks up again when Multee is back. If you quit Multee yourself, the chat says it was cut off and waits: say “carry on” to finish it.
On by default, with a switch in Settings
Carry on after an interruption in Settings ▸ Claude covers chats. Terminal tabs have their own switch under Usage limits: Continue terminal sessions when a limit resets.
