Claude tabs working together

Tabs Claude opens

Claude in one tab can open another tab and hand it part of its work. The new tab works in the background, by default in its own copy of the project, and reports back when it's done.

At most four work at once

At most four tabs Claude opened work at once, across all your projects. Another one shows waiting to start on the strip, with no Claude running yet, and starts by itself when one finishes. A finished tab you aren’t looking at pauses its Claude after 30 seconds to free memory.

A tab that needs you says so on the strip

An opened tab starts in the permission mode of the tab that opened it, and never skips prompts unless you allow that in Settings ▸ Claude. When it stops to ask, the strip says what it wants. A short command has Allow and Deny right there; for anything else, click it to go to the tab.

Stop the tabs Claude opened

Stop on the strip stops every tab this chat opened that is still working or waiting. View ▸ Stop All Opened Tabs (⌥⌘.) stops them in every project. The tabs stay open with what they had done, and none sends a report.

Switch it off

Settings ▸ Claude ▸ Let Claude open tabs is on at first. Turn it off and Claude does all the work in the tab you gave it. To keep one project out, right-click it in SESSIONS and untick Let Claude Open Tabs Here.
